This week’s Panorama theme was a little bit of a pain in the arse. I say this because of the PTGui software I had to use in order to combine all my shots into one panoramic view was a rather tedious task, to say the least. Plus, I was unable to get the PTGui watermarks out of my edit photographs (I probably should’ve spent the money and upgraded rather than use their trail version). Along with the PTGui pains, most of this week Pittsburgh was hampered by rain and cloudy skies, so even after delaying my shoot until later in the week I was still burdened with lackluster light conditions.
All in all I was still happy the shots I was able to capture despite the minor setbacks in weather and editing software.I also had a bit of luck with the Furry convention being held this weekend in Downtown Pittsburgh. The lovable costumed fanatics added a little extra pop to my otherwise traditional landscape photographs.
My favorite was easily the Lawrence Convention Center Walkway largely due to the angle of the shot and the vibrant colors. The original take (16 shots) had both sides of the fountain. Unfortunately, the Furry and pedestrian’s movement in my photograph(s) did not line up perfectly to include those extra five shots, so I had to exclude them. I also took a double take on the Carson Bridge simply because I could not pass up on the opportunity to capture the lone Furry walking along the Allegheny River Walk – it was a stroke of good fortunate and it turned into a great trio of photographs.
